Varietal Composition: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon One of the original Biodynamic vineyards planted in the United States, McNab Ranch is the agricultural heart of Bonterra Organic Vineyards. This single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon has a brilliant, deep red hue and opens with an appealing chorus of black currant, fig and dark chocolate aromas. Firm though fine tannins frame a generous mid-palate that leads to flavors of cassis, toast, portobello and subtle minerality. Suggestions of tobacco and anise harmonize on a lingering finish. The richly textured core of raspberry and plum flavors show precision and just enough acidity to keep things sailing onto the finish around well-integrated tannins and touches of cocoa. This extraordinary score of 96 points is the highest that the magazine has ever awarded to a Chilean wine and Don Melchor has now received it for five different vintages: 2003, 2005, 2014, 2015 and now, with its 35th vintage, 2021.
