This wine is made from 100% Trebbiano di Lugana harvested from the San Benedetto parcel on the south shore of Lake Garda. The grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and refined for six months before being released. Pale lemon-green in color, San Benedetto Lugana offers appealing notes of peaches, citrus, bananas, and herbs, which are underscored by crisp acidity and supple body on the palate. This wine earned a gold medal in the white wine category at the January 2015 Forks & Corks Food & Wine Festival in Sarasota.

Salad Course Grilled Spring Asparagus & Organic Kale (Roasted Pine Nuts, Charred Citrus Vinaigrette, Marinated Roma Tomatoes And Shaved Asiago Cheese)
This wine is a perfect introduction to the variety. Delicately scented and soft on the palate, it offers classic citrus and floral notes in a balanced elegant style. Lemon-green in color, aromas of Key limes and white peaches complement undertones of green apples and grains of paradise. On the palate, it is smooth and refreshing with a long, pleasant finish.

Pasta Course Braised Pork Cheeks & San Marzano Tomato Sugo Rigatoni Pasta, Crimini Mushrooms and Fresh Basil
This wine is a blend of 85% Corvina, 10% Rondinella and 5% Oseleta. As soon as the dried grapes for the Amarone are fermented, selected batches of Valpolicella wine are “re-passed” over the Amarone lees, thus starting a second fermentation that slightly increases the alcohol content and gives the wine deeper color and more complex aromas. Ripassa is refined in tank for six months and then aged in French allier tonneaux for eighteen months. The wine spends an additional six months in bottle before it is released. Deep ruby-red in color, this wine shows intense aromas of blackberries and black currants underscored by aromas of spice pepper and a hint of leather. On the palate, it is smooth and viscous with well-balanced acidity and alcohol.

Alanera translates as "black wing", a reference to the raven, "corvino" in Italian, and an homage to the Valpolicella region's treasured indigenous grape, "Corvina". Alanera is a seductive wine that derives extra richness from an innovative variation on the traditional appassimento method practiced throughout the zone. 50% of all the grapes harvested to produce this wine are partially dried for 45-60 days. The classic Valpolicella varietals are dried in the main drying facility in Sant' Ambrogio where the Zenato family dry their Amarone grapes, while the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are dried at Zenato's Santa Cristina winery. The highly concentrated juice from these partially dried grapes adds an unusually complex spectrum of aromas and flavors to the blend. 12 months in barrel round out the tannin structure in this eminently drinkable red. Brilliant ruby in color, Alanera delights the senses with a variety of aromas and flavors that include fresh and dried cherries and prunes, sweet spice, and hints of coffee and tobacco. On the palate, Alanera is full-bodied with elegant and velvety tannins. Vibrant acidity brings balance and freshness and supports a long and harmonious finish. In a recent publication, B-21 proprietor Bob Sprentall decsribed Alanera, "the Veneto buy of the decade." Rated 90 points - ML, The Wine Advocate.

Beef Course Spice Grilled Beef Tenderloin Spiedini (Yellow and Red Peppers, Nutmeg & Black Pepper Beef Jus With Brocollini)
Although the Superiore designation requires that the grapes that go into this wine are harvested at a slightly higher sugar level than standard Valpolicella - thus producing a wine of potential higher alcohol -this Valpolicella is a soft, supple example of this classic wine. Made predominately from Corvina, this wine displays the ripe black cherry flavors for which the grape is known. Ruby red in color, this Valpolicella Superiore offers fleshy aromas of wild berries, black currants, black cherries, and spices, with hints of chocolate. On the palate, the wine is dry and robust with velvety texture.

Dessert Course Dark Chocolate & Espresso Gelato Sundae (Crispy Sweet And Salty Semolina Strips, Blackberry And Dark Chocolate Ganache With Fresh Whipped Cream)
Cormì is the outcome of the devoted attention lavished on the vineyard in Valpolicella and extols the typical variety of the area, Corvina. This wine and this label were created on the wishes of Sergio Zenato. As well as indicating the blend of Corvina and Merlot, he intended the name to be a reference to “Cor”, or cuore (Italian for heart), which is where this wine first sprang from. This is an elegant, full-bodied red wine obtained from the careful selection of Merlot and Corvina grapes. There are strong aromas of red fruit while, on the palate, the mineral quality and freshness of the Corvina stand out, rounded off by the stoutness and sweetness of the tannins of the Merlot.

For an optional extra $15 per generous pour, we are all in for an incredible tasting experience – the Zenato Cresasso! Your Vintners Committee, with the help of our distributor, has purchased the last few cases available in the State of Florida of this amazing wine, which earned the “Best of Show” medal in the red wine category at the January 2015 Forks & Corks Food & Wine Festival in Sarasota. Cresasso is named for the pebbly soil in which it is grown, "sasso" translates as stone, and "cre" is the prefix of cretaceous. While the terrain was far from easy to cultivate, the native Corvina Veronese reaches optimal ripeness here. Cresasso is the product of extensive study and patience on the part of the Zenato family who sought to craft a wine that truly encapsulates the uniqueness of this special terroir. Cresasso has a rich garnet color which sticks to the rim. On the nose, one senses red fruits such as tart black cherries, plums, and tobacco - all characteristic of the Corvina grape. On the palate the wine is soft and elegant, with Zenato's trademark balance. Don’t miss the opportunity to taste this wine before it can no longer be purchased!
