Buffet Cheese & Charcuterie Board with Jams, Honey, Pickled Accoutrements, and Grilled Sourdough
The ‘Piano dei Daini’ Etna Bianco DOC wine by Tenute Bosco is characterized by a bright straw yellow. Orange blossom, broom and acacia honey extend towards notes of aromatic herbs, lavender and salt. On the palate it is dense and full-bodied, with an intriguing acid component that gives freshness and fades into a salty trail of good persistence, with continuous fruity-floral aromatic returns. One of the most interesting cellars of Etna gives us a Carricante sui generis, fresh and inviting, of great recognition. A peacock tail wine, fully qualified among the best Sicilian white wines for versatility in food pairing.

Picpoul de Pinet is a small appellation near France’s Mediterranean coast and is proving to be a popular region for those looking for crisp, fresh alternatives to Sauvignon Blanc. The grape variety is the white Picpoul or sometimes ‘Piquepoul’, which retains good levels of acidity even when fully ripe. It is one of the oldest Languedoc grapes, growing near the Thau Lagoon for centuries. In fact as early as 1618, the botanist J.B. Maniol cited Piquepoul as one of the best known Languedoc grapes in his work “Sylve plantarium”. This is a really classic example of Picpoul, steely, mineral notes with good acidity and delicate fruits on the palate. Picpoul de Pinet works brilliantly with seafood and shellfish as its flavours neutralize the iodine and salt in them. However the wine is also works well with rich cheese, charcuterie and even chocolate.

Located in the heart of Languedoc region, the Domaine du Chateau d'E'au opens up on the dry soil ruffling by the winds. The grape typicitiy is well felt from the first aromas which are yellow fresh fruits like peach and apricot. The palate is attached with fresh and pleasant offerings. While the finish is slightly lemon flavoured. A great pre-dinner wine or to be enjoyed with salads.

This silky-smooth wine offers an appealing lift of crisp tropical fruit and subtle touches of oak for a vibrant, layered Chardonnay. Notes of lemon meringue, poached pear, crushed granite and fresh pineapple juice offer incredible structure to the palate. Deeper into this well-textured wine are richer hints of butterscotch, almond cream, salted caramel and crème brûlée, finishing bright and playful. Pair this inviting Chardonnay with a grilled pork chop in a mustard-thyme cream sauce with a side of rosemary-herb roasted potatoes, or with a cheese pairing of aged gouda with dried apricots. James Suckling 93 Points.
