This wine is bold, rich and full-bodied, with a potent array of ripe fig, honeysuckle, anise, apricot and smoke flavors that are deep and extracted, ending with a long, mouth coating finish. All-mountain is Alec's favorite kind of cycling and it best describes this deliciously complex blend of Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Heading up trail the air is heavy with wild blueberry, violets, and oak forest aromas. Dropping into descent, deep chutes of blue-black fruit consume a full 160mm of fork travel. Picking up speed the palate turns lively and technical with youthful acidity and some tight twists through the trees. Mocha and espresso bean flavors kick in just as you glide through the dust to a fine chocolaty finish. 450 cases produced, 15.5% Alcohol, 70% Syrah, 25% Merlot, & 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. "An amazing wine made in a rich, generous style, with loads of ripe berry flavors, including wild berry, blueberry, raspberry and plum. Full-bodied, it's fleshy and easy-drinking already, yet has the depth and concentration for cellaring. Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2022." 94 points, Wine Spectator

Winemaker states that "Our Napa Cabernet from the 2010 vintage shows lots of classic character reflecting the small collection of vineyards in Calistoga, Rutherford and Oak Knoll from which it is crafted. Complex aromas of pencil lead, tar, mineral and tobacco leaf are woven around plum fruit and currants with sweet mocha spices. Fruitful and focused on entry the palate picks up minerality and muscle with classic dusty tannins and semi-sweet chocolate." ”Beautifully proportioned, with a rich mix of currant, blackberry, dried herb, mocha, cedar and tobacco flavors. This is also very tightly structured, worthy of a long decant or short-term cellaring. Best from 2014 through 2026” 94 points, Wine Spectator

Sourced from hillside and bench land vineyards in Calistoga, Rutherford and Oak Knoll, Lewis 2010 Cabernet Reserve is a display of opulence and sophistication, with rich brooding fruit character, powerful and precise structure, and vanillin oak Winemaker Notes - Light yields from a small collection of hillside and bench land vineyards in Calistoga, Rutherford and Oak Knoll created this finely woven, richly rendered 2010 Reserve Cabernet. Fragrantly ripe black and blue fruits are enhanced with molasses, clove and creamy oak spices. Brightly focused on entry a fleshy almost kirsch-like quality develops mid-palate with smoky mineral notes. Rustic power develops at the finish with a flourish of fine tannins and malt chocolate. 1,300 cases produced, 15.5% Alcohol, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon While there are no ratings released yet on the 2010, the 2009 Reserve averaged over 94 and the word on the street is that 2010 could even be a better year for this wine than 2009. Only time will tell.
